It seems Justin Blake has just created and launched a viral marketing/viral listbuilding system, and a lot of people are wondering whether this is gunna fly or die.
It's hard to say just yet because it only just launched in beta, and if they do this right, they may succeed incredibly.
Well honestly I got real excited when I first heard about this system, (as I do with any new viral marketing system) but when I downloaded the software and started to figure out how it really worked I was disappointed.
They say a system like Viral Shock has never been done before, but that's only partly true. There are others out there that work similarly, but none with the capabilities and technology that Viral Shock uses. Unfortunately the problem with other systems that have the same framework is that the response rates for mailouts are extremely low, because the lists are completely untargeted to any specific markets (Except maybe internet marketers). It's like mailing to safelists.
Viral Shock claims that their system will be more effective than traditional safelists because of the 100% deliverability feature that direct delivers right to your desktop. This feature intrigued me, but when seeing it in action, I found it to be annoying and disruptive.
On top of that, you will be getting hit by numerous messages from all the people in your upline. I don't know about you, but I have enough junk emails to sift through each day in my email program, let alone having them pop-up and alert me right on my desktop.
Also, since it sits there running in the system tray, it will be using up system resources, which may not be a big problem if you have a fast dual core computer like I do, but if your computer is slower, then it might bog down overall processor performance, and may be the first program users decide to delete when streamlining their system tray.
Another thing I didn't like, was the fact that when you login to the members area, which can only be done on the system tray icon, it fires up Internet Explorer. Now I happen to be a hardcore Firefox enthusiast, and so I really dislike that. It's really only a minor issue though, and not at all if you regularly use Explorer, but I'm hoping they expand the compatibility to autodetect the default browser and fire it up instead.
$197/month, or $97/month if you take the one time offer. You're paying that to send html ad's once a week, and receive ad promotions right to your desktop (Actually you'll get the ad promos for free too). It seems logistically that this might be it's greatest feature, because if you manage to recruit others then you get paid high monthly residual commissions. Now in this case they are offering a service for that money, so I believe it is within the laws.
So what's my overall summary and analysis of Viral Shock?
Well, my guess is that it will be successful because it offers a lot of residual monetary incentive which will be enough to make it go viral. I think that if you get in early (Like
NOW, while they're still in beta), then you will minimize the amount of ads and messages that land on your desktop, because there won't be a huge upline built yet above you. I would recommend not getting the upgrade to pro, unless you feel that your copywriting abilities for creating ads are so good that you can grab the attention of even the most random uninterested audiences. All in all, I'm not psyched on Viral Shock. I'm sure the creators will profit, and a many others will too, but not without effort put forth in recruiting. I would think it to be more effective to spend your time building your own targeted list, and building a relationship with them.
I do like the name Viral Shock and the website is definitely very professional looking with great step by step videos teaching how to get started with building your downline.
If you are interested in
joining Viral Shock, then do it ASAP. As I said, they're still in Beta and getting in now may mean that you down get as many messages from your upline. :)
